Use and maintenance methods of plastic molds
Plastic molds are key special tools for molding plastic products. If the quality of the mold changes, such as: the shape changes, the position moves, the molding surface becomes rough, the contact between the mold surfaces is not tight, etc., it will directly affect the quality of the plastic products. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to the use and maintenance of the mold.
The main points are as follows:
(1) Before production, check whether there are impurities and dirt in all parts of the mold. The paint, impurities and dirt in the mold should be wiped and removed with cotton gauze, and the residues with strong adhesion should be cleaned with a copper tool.
(2) Reasonable selection of clamping force is based on the principle that no flash is generated when the product is molded. Excessive clamping force will increase power consumption and easily accelerate the wear of the mold and transmission parts.
(3) Mold sliding parts such as guide pillars, push rods, reset rods, pull rods, etc. should be oiled twice a day in summer and only once in winter.
(4) Full-time mold maintenance workers should conduct patrol inspections and observations on the molds in production when on duty, and deal with problems in a timely manner. When taking over, the maintenance worker should arrive at the post 5 to 10 minutes in advance to check the production status of the molds, especially for those molds that often produce defective products, and those with more and more prominent problems.
(5) During production, if there is a power outage or shutdown for some reason, if the shutdown lasts for more than 6 hours, in the rainy season in the south, the air is humid, and the molding surface, parting surface, and sliding surface need to be sprayed with anti-rust oil. If the shutdown lasts for more than 24 hours in the non-rainy season, the molding surface, parting surface, and sliding mating surface of the mold need to be sprayed with anti-rust lubricant. Molds that are temporarily unused and need to be stored in the warehouse should be thoroughly cleaned before storage, and then sprayed with anti-rust lubricant, and the molds should be tightly closed before storage. Heavy objects are not allowed to be placed on the molds.
