Laser welding of car seats accelerates the exploration of high-end driving experience
With the rapid development of laser processing technology, the application scope of laser welding technology is becoming more and more extensive, and the application of laser welding in the field of automobile manufacturing is becoming more and more in-depth. As a key part of automobile components, the manufacturing level of car seats is constantly upgrading with the rapid development of the automobile industry, and this is inseparable from the continuous improvement of laser welding technology for car seats.
Due to the continuous improvement of market requirements for automobile consumption standards, car seats are no longer simple seats. The requirements for comfort and aesthetics are getting higher and higher, and the manufacturing process is becoming more and more lean. Traditional electric welding and arc welding can no longer meet the increasingly refined welding process requirements. More refined and efficient welding methods, laser welding of car seats has gradually replaced traditional welding methods and become the mainstream welding method in car seat processing. It is selected by more and more automobile manufacturers.
At present, there are two main types of skeleton welding methods used for laser welding of car seats, namely laser lap welding and laser fillet welding, which are used as substitutes for traditional resistance spot welding and traditional arc welding respectively.
Among them, the principle of the lap welding process of laser welding of car seats is to melt the surface of two superimposed metal sheets through the pinhole effect, and then gradually melt the lower layer. At the same time, there is also relative movement between the laser beam and the metal workpiece, and finally the molten material solidifies to form a laser weld. The principle of laser fillet welding is to place the two workpieces to be welded at right angles, and the laser beam is shot into the right-angle connection at a certain incident angle, and then the metal material of the two workpieces is melted and solidified through the principle of the pinhole effect, and then the laser welding is completed. Both of these car seat laser welding processes use the laser beam to melt and vaporize the workpiece surface. The steam recoil pressure generated in the process will excite the molten material, causing the molten material produced by the laser to sink to form a molten pool. The laser beam makes the metal workpiece further melt and vaporize. During the whole process, high-pressure steam is continuously generated and ejected from the bottom of the pit. The repeated process makes the pinhole gradually deepen, and the laser beam also goes deeper step by step.

The emergence of laser welding technology has well replaced the traditional spot welding and arc welding technology, greatly improving the welding process of the entire seat parts and components, and the manufacturing cycle of parts has also been greatly improved. In the near future, with the continuous development of laser welding technology and the continuous improvement of automation, robot automated laser welding technology will completely replace the original welding process technology in the welding process of automotive seat parts.
