                           Injection mold polishing precautions

Injection mold polishing has two purposes; one is to increase the finish of the mold, so that the surface of the product produced by the mold is smooth, beautiful and beautiful, and the other is to make the mold easy to demold, so that the plastic does not stick to the mold and cannot be removed.

The precautions for polishing injection molds in the injection mold factory are as follows:

(1) When starting to process a new mold cavity, the surface of the workpiece should be checked first. The injection mold factory uses kerosene to clean the surface so that the surface of the oilstone will not stick to dirt and lose its cutting function.

(2) When grinding coarse grains, it should be done in the order of easy first and difficult later, especially some difficult dead corners, the deeper bottom should be studied first.

(3) Some workpieces can be polished by assembling several workpieces together. First, grind the coarse grains or fire patterns of a single workpiece separately, and then grind all the workpieces together until smooth.

(4) For workpieces with large planes or sides, use an oilstone to grind out rough lines, and then use a flat steel sheet to conduct a light inspection to check whether there are unevenness or warping. If there is reverse warping, it will make demolding difficult or the workpiece will be damaged.

(5) In order to prevent the mold workpiece from being inverted or some joint surfaces need to be protected, saw blades or sandpaper can be attached to the edges to achieve ideal protection effects.

(6) Pull the grinding mold surface back and forth, and try to flatten the oilstone handle. The injection mold should not exceed 25 when leaving the factory; because the slope is too large, the force rushes from top to bottom, which can easily cause many rough lines to be ground on the workpiece.

(7) If sandpaper is used to grind the workpiece surface, the sandpaper of the injection molding factory cannot be larger than the tool area, otherwise it will grind to places that should not be ground.

(8) The shape of the grinding tool should be close to the surface shape of the mold, so that the injection molding factory can ensure that the workpiece is not deformed by grinding.
