The production process of the rear bumper mold mainly includes the following steps:

‌Design phase‌: First, according to the requirements of the car design, the designer will use CAD software to draw a three-dimensional model of the bumper. This model will describe the various parts of the bumper in detail, including the shape, structure, material and other information.

‌Mold design‌: In the mold design phase, the designer will design the mold according to the 3D model. This includes determining the structure, size, material and processing method of the mold. After the mold design is completed, a simulation test will be carried out to ensure the feasibility and efficiency of the mold in actual production.

‌Processing phase‌:

‌Glue surface processing‌: According to the 3D drawing, the workpiece is finely processed, and the processing is required to be processed to R1 tool, 0 margin on the front, 0.2mm tolerance on the side within 0 to +0.05mm, the surface should be smooth without obvious steps and knife marks, and the corner cleaning and cutting are controlled within 0 to 0.02mm, and a 3+2 five-axis light knife is used.

 

Parting and sealing surface processing‌: Use R0.5 tool for fine processing, 0 allowance on the front, 0.15mm tolerance on the side within ±0.02mm, and the surface is required to be smooth‌.

‌Stop surface processing‌: Fine processing according to 3D drawing, tolerance within 0 to +0.02mm, four sides of static positioning oblique/straight fixed edge position one-time polishing knife, position accuracy 0.02mm‌.

‌Bumping and inserting surface processing‌: The blue area processing convex position leaves 0.08mm allowance, the frame, groove, and hole in the non-glue area are finely processed according to the 3D drawing, the tolerance is +0.02mm on one side, and the position tolerance is ±0.02mm‌.

 

‌Four-side processing‌: Including 5-degree wear-resistant square groove, code mold groove, mold foot hole, core pulling groove hole, etc., use CNC milling polishing tool‌.

 

‌Hot nozzle hole processing‌: front end Φ20.0mm fine milling/boring processing, depth extension 5.0mm, hole diameter tolerance +0.02mm‌.

 

‌Core pulling hole processing‌: first deep hole drilling according to the size of the sealing section, leaving 0.02mm single side, deep hole drilling of the guide hole, and then CNC boring tool processing the rear end guide sleeve hole position‌.

‌Fine hole processing‌: such as pin hole fine boring/twisting processing, position tolerance 0 to 0.02mm, hole concentricity 0.01mm‌.

 

‌Guide column square guide column processing‌: fine processing with boring tool, tolerance ±0.02mm position ±0.02‌.

‌Water transport hole processing‌: deep hole drilling processing, hole diameter according to the drawing, position tolerance ±0.2mm‌.

 

‌Screw hole processing‌: CNC drill the bottom hole and chamfer the C angle according to the drawing position, and the eyelet hole is processed according to the standard‌.

 

‌Assembly and debugging‌: After the processing of each part of the mold is completed, it needs to be assembled and debugged. During assembly, attention should be paid to the coordination and fixation of each part to ensure that the mold can work stably during use. The debugging stage is mainly to check whether the various functions of the mold are normal and ensure that the produced bumper meets the design requirements.

 

‌Testing and correction‌: After the mold is assembled and debugged, functional testing and product testing are required. If any problems are found, corrections and optimizations need to be made to ensure the production efficiency and product quality of the mold.
