Thin Wall Injection Molding Plastic Mold
Requirements for thin-walled mold steel
Thin-walled mold steel needs to have the following properties:

1. High strength: The mold needs to withstand greater pressure and tension, so the steel needs to have high strength.
2. High toughness: The wall thickness of the thin-walled mold is very thin, so the steel needs to have high toughness to prevent problems such as breakage during processing.
3. High hardness: The manufacture of thin-walled molds requires multiple processing and heat treatment, so the steel needs to have high hardness to ensure the accuracy of the mold.
4. High wear resistance: Thin-walled molds need to withstand high-speed friction during use, so the steel needs to have high wear resistance.
Common thin-walled mold steels
According to the above requirements, there are several common thin-walled mold steels:

1. Hot work die steel: This steel has the properties of high strength, high toughness, high hardness and high wear resistance, so it is very suitable for manufacturing thin-walled molds. Common hot work die steels include H13, H11, H21, etc.
2. Cold working die steel: This steel has high strength, high toughness and high hardness, but poor wear resistance. Common cold working die steels include D2, D3, O1, etc.
3. High-speed steel: This steel has high hardness and high wear resistance, but poor toughness. Common high-speed steels include M2, M35, M42, etc.
4. Stainless steel: This steel has high strength, high toughness and high corrosion resistance, but poor hardness and wear resistance. Common stainless steels include S136, SUS420, etc.
